Following the Ministry of Education (MOE) conference held on Thursday evening and official communications received by our Government Relations team over the weekend, we have been advised that we will be unable to have our younger grade level students back on campuses in the coming weeks, as planned. Unfortunately, this restriction has been applied countrywide and the MOE are not making any exceptions.
While our full return to school plan is still with the MOE for consideration, we will now seek further clarity specifically on our permitted capacity for small group assessment and support sessions. Our Government Relations team is already in daily contact with the MOE to discuss our options and to find agreement on an approved schedule.
We feel it is incredibly important to have all of our students back on campus for in person learning, so we will continue to work with the ministries in order to achieve this. As we work towards this, our Pre-KG-Grade 6/FS1-Year 7 students will remain in virtual learning until further notice. Please note that your child’s principal will be in touch with more information on virtual scheduling later today.
I recognize that this may be disappointing for many families, but please be assured that as soon as we have a format that is acceptable to the ministries we will circulate schedules for on campus attendance.
Please note that this does not affect the attendance of our older grade levels, who will return to ISG campuses tomorrow. I would like to remind parents to ensure that students have met the mandatory vaccination requirements for attendance. If you have not yet uploaded your children’s documentation, please contact your school site as soon as possible for assistance.
