SHRM Award

Dear Parents,

I am very pleased to announce that ISG won the Silver Award for Excellence in Talent Management and Development presented by the Society of Human Resource Management - Middle East and North Africa (SHRM-MENA). SHRM is the world’s largest HR organization representing 330,000 members worldwide. ISG is the first school to achieve an award with SHRM in the MENA region. At ISG, professional development is a priority, and winning this award is a testament to the effort and dedication we commit to in evolving how we train, teach and learn at ISG. You can read the full story here.

We were honored to host Dr. Morten Meldal, the 2022 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry, as a guest speaker at ISG. Dr. Meldal was awarded this prestigious accolade for the development of click chemistry and bioorthogonal chemistry.  He spoke to over 600 ISG high school and senior students on the topic of "Motivation in Science Career Choices." Dr. Meldal emphasized the importance of dedication and having courage when pursuing one’s passion, which strongly resonated with our students.  His talk was followed by a Q&A session, autographs and pictures.

I am pleased to announce that the 2024 graduation dates for this year have been set:

  • ASD: May 25.
  • BSD Seniors Graduation: June 1.
  • ISG Dammam: June 6.

During the week of November 5, ISG administrators, counselors and nurses completed intensive child protection training through the Council of International Schools (CIS). Child Protection Training is an annual mandatory requirement for all new and existing staff.

All of our schools have now conducted their first School Council meetings of the 2023-24 academic year. The councils consist of the school principal, teachers, staff and members of the student and parent community. The councils meet regularly throughout the year for updates on school-related matters, to discuss learning and growth at the school and opportunities for improvement.  Other discussions may include curriculum items, after school activities, transportation and  facilities. The purpose of our school councils is to work strategically with the principal on school improvements. Please find below the next meeting dates for each of our schools:

  • ASD: December 10.
  • BSD: February 8, 2024.
  • ISG Dammam: December 3.
  • ISG Jubail: December 4.
  • SVS:  December 4.

For more information on School Councils, please contact your child’s principal.

On November 4, 2023, the ISG U14 Volleyball teams played in the ISG Jamboree.  Boys and girls from ASD, BSD, ISG Dammam and ISG Jubail participated in a full day of competitions.
