Good Morning ASD
It is easy to underestimate how strongly linked clear communication is to kindness. We so often judge others and hold them to standards that they are not aware of. We expect those around us to behave in ways that we have never communicated. We allow a potential friend to continue doing things that annoy us until that potential is lost because they never had a chance to correct themselves. How many times have we had a conversation with someone in which we didn't say what really needed to be said if there was any chance of progress to be made.
Communication is difficult. The inability to communicate our thoughts and our needs in a positive way will continue to be the central frustration of human relationships. No one is ever an expert. But until we become proficient at the art of calm, clear communication we should give others a break. We should be slow to judge and slow to condemn. This is especially true if we haven't yet been kind enough to calmly, clearly, and patiently speak with our fellow human beings.
As always, the advice is free and you don't have to take it.
