In the high school years, students develop their passions, sharpen their thinking, find their voices and look ahead to their future. At ASD, we endeavor to prepare students for the challenges they will face in higher education and an increasingly globalized world.

Coming together around our strategic goals of growing literacy, compassionate action, and learner agency, students continually challenge themselves and reflect on their learning. By emphasizing the teaching of concepts and skills in addition to content, teachers ensure a rich classroom experience and a warm, inclusive learning environment. Our success is underpinned by our dedicated and professional staff, who are committed to providing every student with a world-class college-prep education.

ASD follows an American curriculum and offers three programs of study. The American curriculum college-preparatory program offers over 60 courses. For the Advanced Placement Program, 20 AP courses are on offer. Students choosing to follow the two-year International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma program select from 28 courses, including Theory of Knowledge. We also offer 12 IB certificate courses as another option to students.

Our academic programs are as demanding as they are rewarding. Students can further extend themselves through our after school activities, which include a variety of sports, fine and performing arts, clubs and more.

Our college counseling program ensures students are well supported as they explore options and apply to post secondary institutions around the world. ASD students have a long tradition of being accepted into some of the finest universities including Stanford, Yale, UC Berkeley, MIT, Columbia, London School of Economics, University of Toronto, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

With an emphasis on developing critical thinking, research, collaborative and time management skills, ASD students are well prepared for post-secondary education and beyond.
